Let’s dive into the full experience of Fall by spending an afternoon at the organic and eco-sustainable Fishkill Farm in the Hudson Valley!
The afternoon will include:
A movement class with the theme of incorporating better movements for “playing in the dirt” (gardening, foraging, moving for exercise, etc.)
An informative talk regarding the benefits of Organic and Eco-sustainable farming
A picking session where we’ll apply our movement skills and bring home our farm picked apples and pumpkins
(Optional) Wind down the afternoon with a glass of Fishkill Farm’s own cider at the cider bar!
My mission is to help people integrate more healthy movement into their lives, and what better way to move your body and connect to nature than through gardening and working with the soil!
And yet, even experienced gardeners will suffer from aches and pains in their body.
So, in the movement class section of the day, we’ll explore the types of movement that gardening, foraging and working with the earth all have to offer our bodies.
We’ll practice natural movement skills that help us efficiently and safely achieve our tasks, and we’ll also focus in on alignment principles and corrective exercises that help our bodies adapt to movements found in working with the earth.
All of this is intended to give you an experience of moving more freely so that you can more fully enjoy “playing in the dirt” (as my friend Ben Page calls it) whether you are moving for exercise, tending your own garden, or exploring and foraging for wild food.
