Planting the Seeds for Moving and Feeling Better
Do you love gardening, or want to start gardening, but you’re worried about hurting your knees and back?
Join Patrick Hogan, a Restorative Exercise Specialist and Natural Movement coach, in a workshop designed to introduce how the activities you love can also be what keep your body healthy and strong just by adopting some simple habits.
We’ll talk about the types of exercise that gardening has to offer our bodies.
We’ll address the common habits that lead to knee and back pain.
We’ll practice the skills that help us efficiently and safely do the things that gardening requires (such as lifting, carrying, kneeling, bending)
All this is intended to give you the experience of moving more freely with fewer aches and pains while ensuring better longevity in the body so that you can more fully enjoy the activities you love - including “playing in the dirt.”
My mission is to help people integrate more healthy movement into their lives, and what better way to move your body and connect to nature than through gardening and working with the soil!
Patrick Hogan is a coach for movement and life who helps people move more freely and live more fully through aligning their body and lifestyle with their essential selves. As a Restorative Exercise Specialist (RES from Katy Bowman’s Nutritious Movement Institute), he helps restore better alignment and function of the body to alleviate common ailments that arise from habits of modern lifestyles. Through Natural Movement coaching (Mov Nat certified trainer) he helps integrate fundamental human movement skills into a practice of interacting with the environment that develops a sense of empowerment and encourages play. As a life coach (certified through Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training) he helps people clarify their deeper values while navigating through obstacles (such as limiting beliefs) so that they can clear the path toward a life filled with more purpose, freedom and joy.
